Club Deportivo Santiago's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MEXACOMX the free kick. After 4 played minutes Club Deportivo Santiago got a freekick which was hit by Gomez Ayo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Gonçalves in the 6th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Leandro Candina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 7th minute of the match Gomez Ayo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gomez Ayo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 8 played minutes, MEXACOMX's Nuno Candeias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leandro Candina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MEXACOMX reached it. In the 9th match minute, MEXACOMX was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Candeias to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Montiel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rodolfo Seabra made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Evelio Terres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodolfo Seabra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mariano Faria during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to MEXACOMX getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Mariano Faria hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Santiago's Rafael Criales got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The supporters of MEXACOMX booed when Club Deportivo Santiago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Montiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Belchior Conde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 28 minutes, Xavies Hubieta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo Santiago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavies Hubieta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Santiago's Rafael Criales got a free kick in the 31st minute. Rafael Criales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Máximo Sales kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The long shot by Xavies Hubieta in the 35th minute really tested Rodolfo Seabra's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Leandro Candina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domingos Vilarinho's shot from short distance in the 49th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Montiel to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Evelio Terres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Seabra was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, MEXACOMX's Mariano Faria got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Arturo Montiel took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Seabra. Rodolfo Seabra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 71 minutes into the match, MEXACOMX's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Criales came free, but Rodolfo Seabra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Arturo Montiel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodolfo Seabra. MEXACOMX's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Montiel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 79 played minutes MEXACOMX got a freekick which was hit by Quintino Horta. Xavies Hubieta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Seabra having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Arturo Montiel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Seabra was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Rodolfo Seabra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arturo Montiel's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Club Deportivo Santiago were the better team. Club Deportivo Santiago's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
