Spectators: 7560 (Terracing: 5671, Seating: 1738, VIP seats: 151) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arturo Montiel kicked off to start the match. 10 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Leandro Candina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlinhos de Lara. After 11 minutes Club Deportivo Santiago's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carlos Alberto Torres who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Marty Pointon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Deportivo Santiago's Leandro Candina did a great save. Carlos Alberto Torres's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Santiago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Alberto Torres helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Deportivo Santiago booed when Juventudes Libertárias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Carlinhos de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chepe Canido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zuberoa Mesia in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Club Deportivo Santiago were awarded a corner. Xavies Hubieta went to the cornerflag to take it. Club Deportivo Santiago's Xavies Hubieta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Chepe Canido in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andriy Shevchenko in the 24th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Leandro Candina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Andriy Shevchenko made a precise shot to the right of Leandro Candina. Club Deportivo Santiago's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 30th minute, Andriy Shevchenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leandro Candina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andriy Shevchenko in the 35th minute of the match. Carlinhos de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Leandro Candina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Andriy Shevchenko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leandro Candina was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 44th minute, Andriy Shevchenko reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Leandro Candina. The goal made the score 3-0. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Santiago's Leandro Candina got control of the ball when Carlinhos de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlinhos de Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlinhos de Lara in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leandro Candina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Evelio Terres fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Santiago's protests and gave Evelio Terres a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Deportivo Santiago getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Evelio Terres hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Santiago's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Nabar came free, but Leandro Candina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rdth minute of the game Carlinhos de Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Deportivo Santiago's Leandro Candina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marquinhos Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Leandro Candina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventudes Libertárias. Arturo Montiel's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Chepe Canido firmly grabbed it by the left post. Leandro Candina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Leandro Candina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andriy Shevchenko in the 78th minute of the match. The Juventudes Libertárias fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Juventudes Libertárias's Carlinhos de Lara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 87th minute, Carlinhos de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arturo Montiel struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Chepe Canido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportivo Santiago. In the 91st match minute, Juventudes Libertárias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrico Fermi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Santiago's Ursino Valls got a free kick in the 93rd minute. If Andriy Shevchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
