After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Cristian Rufo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esmeralda AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Rufo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Inocencio Luar came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Esmeralda AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inocencio Luar couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, INTER FC's Basílio Maranhense got control of the ball when Ceferino Restu tried to sneak it across the goal line. INTER FC's Basílio Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Restu in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Esmeralda AFC booed when INTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hortêncio Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernabe Artizar made a kick off. Bruno Alves hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Basílio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernabe Artizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 54 played minutes Esmeralda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Lamberto. In the 55th minute, Mandi Oca fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benigno Silbestre, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio Linhares in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benigno Silbestre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mandi Oca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to INTER FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hortêncio Linhares hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Esmeralda AFC's Javier Hermelando got a free kick in the 64th minute. Esmeralda AFC's Benigno Silbestre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Esmeralda AFC from getting a goal against them. Severiano Clementi's late challenge caught a INTER FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Clementi helped the player get up and apologised. After 69 played minutes Esmeralda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Clementi. In the 78th minute, Bernabe Artizar made a precise shot to the right of Basílio Maranhense. INTER FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 87 minutes into the match, Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Benigno Silbestre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hortêncio Linhares. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
