The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Mircea Dadu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dave Falcioni was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 10 minutes, Dorel Izmanã mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Truseni and the Burnley FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Mihail Cepoi fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Truseni's protests and gave Mihail Cepoi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Burnley FC booed when FC Truseni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihail Cepoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alemdar Baykut took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vadim Macovei. FC Truseni's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With an all-out effort, FC Truseni's Dave Falcioni threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mircea Dadu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dave Falcioni was a little too slow when Mircea Dadu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-1. 28 minutes into the match, Mihail Cepoi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dave Falcioni. Burnley FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihail Cepoi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iosif Creangã in the 36th minute of play forced Burnley FC's goalkeeper Dave Falcioni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dave Falcioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Dadu in the 39th minute of the match. Iosif Creangã fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Falcioni having to interfere. Marek Czempa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. The referee gave FC Truseni a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eugen Tabãrã, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Burnley FC's Dave Falcioni. 5-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enzo Proietti was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roch Hatman in the 54th minute of play forced FC Truseni's goalkeeper Vadim Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iosif Creangã hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. FC Truseni's Vadim Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Proietti in the 58th minute of play. Dave Falcioni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iosif Creangã, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Dave Falcioni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Dadu in the 63rd minute of the match. The long shot by Alemdar Baykut in the 70th minute really tested Vadim Macovei's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. FC Truseni's Vadim Macovei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save FC Truseni from getting a goal against them. Vadim Macovei was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristoforo Capuozzi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-2 in the 72 minute of play. After 77 played minutes, Burnley FC's Alemdar Baykut shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vadim Macovei came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burnley FC reached it. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Tudor Cobzar put it in 6-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dave Falcioni. In the 93rd minute Tudor Cobzar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Falcioni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, FC Truseni's Mircea Dadu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dave Falcioni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-3. FC Truseni's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
