After 11 minutes of play, Águilas Poblanas's Virgilio Guerau made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni de Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ernesto Damião did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Cornelio Mino 16 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Virgilio Monico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornelio Mino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Damião in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, Águilas Poblanas's Cecilio Maties got a free kick in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Minotauro's Ernesto Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Mino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Bartosz Bednorz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cornelio Mino firmly grabbed it by the left post. Giovanni de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgilio Guerau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Paulinho Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulinho Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Mino having to interfere. Minotauro were furious when Jano Palmeira was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Giovanni de Toledo had in the 44thth minute some difficulties stopping Gustavo Chabier's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 47 minutes, Paulinho Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minotauro and the Águilas Poblanas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Paulinho Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Minotauro made a substitution. Tales Vasconcelos replaced Paulinho Santos. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tales Vasconcelos made a kick off. If Tales Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. After 58 played minutes Minotauro got a freekick which was hit by Bartosz Bednorz. 61 minutes into the match, Minotauro's Eliseu Peres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelio Mino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Romeu Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Águilas Poblanas made a substitution. Águilas Poblanas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minotauro the free kick. Minotauro's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Mino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonardo Pes got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 92 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Pes. In the 96th minute Leonardo Estavan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Minotauro were the better team. Minotauro's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
