Spectators: 7620 (Terracing: 5716, Seating: 1752, VIP seats: 152) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Virgilio Monico got the match started through his kick off. After 7 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Maties. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Pedro Garcia got free with Cornelio Mino in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute of the match, Zé Pedro Garcia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cornelio Mino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Edson Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Zanette hit a great ball. Sebastião Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Rui de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Mino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Enéas Barros put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cornelio Mino. In the 29th minute, Leonardo Estavan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Richard Luz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 32nd minute, Segundo Salomone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enéas Barros took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cornelio Mino. Cornelio Mino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Leonardo Estavan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Richard Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Chayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Águilas Poblanas's Cornelio Mino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Águilas Poblanas from getting a goal against them. Rui de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Cornelio Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Richard Luz came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Águilas Poblanas's Virgilio Monico. But to his dismay, Virgilio Monico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. When Leonardo Estavan fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Águilas Poblanas's protests and gave Leonardo Estavan a yellow card for diving instead. Cornelio Mino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui de Queirós in the 59th minute of play. Edson Futebol Clube's Rui de Queirós suffered a sore thigh after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Moises Nisio fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Águilas Poblanas's protests and gave Moises Nisio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Águilas Poblanas getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Moises Nisio hit a great ball. Moises Nisio kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Antônio Carlos Zanette hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes Edson Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Cordeiro. Virgilio Monico might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Luz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgilio Monico ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th match minute, Edson Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilherme Tavares to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when Edson Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Águilas Poblanas's Leonardo Estavan got his second yellow card of the match in the 72nd minute. The referee ordered Leonardo Estavan off the ground. After a rather tough play, Águilas Poblanas's Gustavo Chabier got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience held their breath when Sebastião Aguiar in the 79th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Cornelio Mino's left hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Pedro Garcia in the 93rd minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Cornelio Mino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Virgilio Monico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Edson Futebol Clube players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
