A collision led to Carabata Groove getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Fernando Cordero hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carabata Groove's zone, Tiago Cuevas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nereo Ihazintu came out of the goal and Tiago Cuevas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, FCSB CUENCA's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Arnas came free, but Agapito Blanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Fernando Cordero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carabata Groove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCSB CUENCA the free kick. Nereo Ihazintu made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Bernardo Solo sent off a good shot on target. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Ionel Zărnescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nereo Ihazintu, 2-0. In the 46th minute, Ionel Zărnescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ionel Zărnescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Carabata Groove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Cordero to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, Ionel Zărnescu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Carabata Groove's Nereo Ihazintu. Nereo Ihazintu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nereo Ihazintu came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by FCSB CUENCA's Ionel Zărnescu. But to his dismay, Ionel Zărnescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 65 minutes into the match, FCSB CUENCA's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Arnas came free, but Agapito Blanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agapito Blanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Arnas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Carabata Groove's Carlos Arnas in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FCSB CUENCA's goalie prevented a goal. 69 minutes into the match, Ugutz Jubera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nereo Ihazintu. Carabata Groove's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ugutz Jubera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After 72 minutes of play, FCSB CUENCA's Bernardo Solo made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nereo Ihazintu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ugutz Jubera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nereo Ihazintu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ionel Zărnescu went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute, Ionel Zărnescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Carabata Groove's Raimundo Astudillo got a free kick in the 86th minute. Ugutz Jubera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nereo Ihazintu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Nereo Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Solo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Arnas got free with Agapito Blanco in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FCSB CUENCA fans cheered their team off the field, for while Carabata Groove had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
