After having played for 3 minutes, Jacobo Olivar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Lanus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobo Olivar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heiko Need's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Lanus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heiko Need helped the player get up and apologised. During the 6th minute of the match Heiko Need completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Heiko Need a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 10th minute, Club Atletico Lanus's Gervasio Santiago dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Teodosio Johans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Koos Alberts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buitenhout FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Koos Alberts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Teofilio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Buitenhout FC defense, Honorio Pinto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maximino Cristofanini. The Buitenhout FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maximino Cristofanini should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute, Anacleto Eguerdi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Astor Teofilio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodosio Johans went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Maximino Cristofanini was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Denis Salvidor showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 26 minute of play. Maximino Cristofanini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Olivar in the 30th minute of play. When Amadeo Cebo fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico Lanus's protests and gave Amadeo Cebo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Buitenhout FC booed when Club Atletico Lanus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Cebo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacobo Olivar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Maximino Cristofanini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Gervasio Santiago reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Maximino Cristofanini. The goal made the score 4-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruud Reinders to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Vitinho Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buitenhout FC and the Club Atletico Lanus players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Buitenhout FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitinho Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. When Govert Meier came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Buitenhout FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Govert Meier couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Jacobo Olivar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atletico Lanus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Vitinho Favoretto hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Denis Salvidor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Atletico Lanus's Gervasio Santiago got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Buitenhout FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gervasio Santiago came free, but Maximino Cristofanini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vitinho Favoretto got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. When Gervasio Santiago came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Club Atletico Lanus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Santiago couldn't finish the play.
