In the 4th minute Kevin Musu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quinito Cifuentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uriel Zubiaga kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A well placed Vergaray Echeto short distance shot in the 7th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 12thth minute of the game Vergaray Echeto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meerkats FC's William Troisi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allande Fuente kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Meerkats FC's Kevin Musu, in the 15th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Meerkats FC. 17 minutes into the match, Daniel Seracino Inglott had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quinito Cifuentes. Cuatrodeocho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Seracino Inglott was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of Cuatrodeocho booed when Meerkats FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephen Bonnici didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vergaray Echeto charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vergaray Echeto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vergaray Echeto kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Meerkats FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Seracino Inglott. Vergaray Echeto in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of William Troisi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cuatrodeocho were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Meerkats FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Austin Urbina took the corner. Cuatrodeocho's Austin Urbina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but William Troisi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Stephen Bonnici fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meerkats FC's protests and gave Stephen Bonnici a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meerkats FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! William Troisi had in the 32ndth minute some difficulties stopping Austin Urbina's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Andrea Bonett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vergaray Echeto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without William Troisi having to make a save. Vergaray Echeto took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Troisi. William Troisi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Kevin Musu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quinito Cifuentes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Seracino Inglott in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vergaray Echeto to make the kick off. A collision led to Meerkats FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Leonard Calleja hit a great ball. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cuatrodeocho! Vergaray Echeto struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. William Troisi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuatrodeocho. The supporters of Cuatrodeocho booed when Meerkats FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton De Battista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meerkats FC were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Cuatrodeocho's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anton De Battista took the corner. When Zach Gerada came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Meerkats FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zach Gerada couldn't finish the play. Quinito Cifuentes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Anton De Battista. Leonard Calleja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Quinito Cifuentes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Vergaray Echeto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of William Troisi. Meerkats FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vergaray Echeto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. After 76 played minutes Cuatrodeocho got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Rydz. Marcial Tarin scored 5-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of William Troisi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 80 played minutes Meerkats FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Bonett. A collision led to Cuatrodeocho getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Colas Gabas hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Meerkats FC's Zach Gerada dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-3. Meerkats FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Cuatrodeocho had won, even though Meerkats FC had held more of the ball.
