The audience was convinced that Ximenes Coz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gavino Luke was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justavino Cortez in the 9th minute of play forced Gaviotas FC's goalkeeper Gavino Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Justavino Cortez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gavino Luke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 13th minute, Ximenes Coz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gavino Luke was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 16 played minutes FC Philotimo got a freekick which was hit by Felix Artiaga. The audience cheered loudly when Domingo Quinto's long shot in the 17th minute became 1-2 when the ball went to the left of and passed Quiñónez Louzara. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ildefonso Ortle in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quiñónez Louzara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27thth minute of the game Ildefonso Ortle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Philotimo's Quiñónez Louzara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gavino Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justavino Cortez in the 33rd minute of play. Ximenes Coz struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Gavino Luke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Philotimo. After 40 played minutes Gaviotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Quinto. Justavino Cortez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Gavino Luke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaviotas FC's Gavino Luke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ximenes Coz in the 46th minute of play. Mario Giner kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Ildefonso Ortle made the kick off in the second half. When Ildefonso Ortle came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Gaviotas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ildefonso Ortle couldn't finish the play. Isidro Vimaro hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Gaviotas FC's Isidro Vimaro got a free kick in the 65th minute. After recieving a nice pass, FC Philotimo's Justavino Cortez tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of FC Philotimo booed when Gaviotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Quinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quiñónez Louzara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Ortle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quiñónez Louzara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Ursino in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Gaviotas FC's goalkeeper Gavino Luke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Justavino Cortez. If Ildefonso Ortle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santiago Oliverio's late challenge caught a FC Philotimo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Oliverio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, Gaviotas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Oliverio to maneuver through the defense. Sebastian Gimenez kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Justavino Cortez managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Philotimo's supporters rose to their feet, but Justavino Cortez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavino Luke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 98 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Ursino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quiñónez Louzara. FC Philotimo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodolfo Ursino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
