After 17 played minutes Airetupal EXC got a freekick which was hit by Ignado Ascorbe. After 18 played minutes, Rafaela FC's Gustavo Amato shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miguel Calero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rafaela FC reached it. In the 21stth minute of the game Zeledon Locaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Airetupal EXC's Miguel Calero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ovidio Txurio kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Teofilio Potes came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Airetupal EXC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofilio Potes couldn't finish the play. Andre Armentia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Calvino having to interfere. Teofilio Potes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Prospero Calvino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Zeledon Locaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Airetupal EXC's Miguel Calero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 32 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Amato. Teofilio Potes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Calvino having to interfere. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Airetupal EXC's goalkeeper Miguel Calero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teofilio Potes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teofilio Potes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Airetupal EXC's Miguel Calero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Izotz in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
In the 52nd minute, Ovidio Txurio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Andoni Escobedo fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Airetupal EXC's protests and gave Andoni Escobedo a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Airetupal EXC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! Miguel Calero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Izotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Eriberto Navarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Locaio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Miguel Calero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Prospero Calvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Echeto in the 81st minute of the match. Teofilio Potes might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Prospero Calvino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teofilio Potes ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Andre Armentia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Prospero Calvino was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. In the 96th minute Teofilio Potes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prospero Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Armentia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Airetupal EXC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rafaela FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
