FC Momlinho's Vilhelm Boklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sten Bolander in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, Oldham Athletic's Mattias Pihlgren got control of the ball when Eric Haeger tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute, FC Momlinho's Magnus Björkqvist seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Magnus Björkqvist the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. After 30 minutes, Ivar Arenius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Momlinho and the Oldham Athletic players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Oldham Athletic fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Olsson to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Björn Svanström during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
