Mattias Pihlgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fikri Sakman in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fikri Sakman in the 10th minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Mattias Pihlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th match minute, Oldham Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Svanström to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Fikri Sakman managed to get in a good position for a shot. ÇORUM FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Fikri Sakman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Pihlgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Adrian Pettersson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Umut İnceman to make any attempt to save it. Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattias Pihlgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Valentin Jonsson kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Jonsson. Umut İnceman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jimmy Linquist's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mattias Pihlgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Adrian Pettersson scored 2-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Umut İnceman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th match minute, Oldham Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Abrahamsson to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Fikri Sakman made the kick off in the second half. Fikri Sakman did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Mattias Pihlgren 61 minutes into the match. Zafer Benlioğlu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Mattias Pihlgren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mattias Pihlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fikri Sakman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Adrian Pettersson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Umut İnceman. ÇORUM FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Pettersson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Mattias Pihlgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fikri Sakman in the 74th minute. After 91 minutes of play, ÇORUM FK's Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mattias Pihlgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mattias Pihlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zafer Benlioğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oldham Athletic's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
