In the 11th minute Bernardo de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albérico Vilaverde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albérico Vilaverde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albérico Vilaverde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 34th minute, Alexandrino Bessa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Waldir Matorin made a precise shot to the right of Albérico Vilaverde. SC Braga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Celsinho Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albérico Vilaverde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Matorin in the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th match minute, O MOTIVO ⚽ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. After the first half O MOTIVO ⚽ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celsinho Magalhães to strike the kick off in the second half. If Luís Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Reis to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo de Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albérico Vilaverde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Albérico Vilaverde made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Celsinho Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. Bernardo de Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Albérico Vilaverde made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded O MOTIVO ⚽ left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SC Braga.
