FC Luck's Ciprian Barboni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Sousa in the 13th minute of play. After 14 minutes of play, FC Luck's Robert Holban made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rony Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute Cristi Aaxiniei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Alvinegro Carioca booed when FC Luck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandu Irimia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half FC Luck were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Holban was the one to do the kick off. Marcel Bogdan hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Alvinegro Carioca's Sidnei Mendonça got a free kick in the 58th minute. Rony Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Holban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Holban in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rony Netto saved Alvinegro Carioca from getting behind. José Augusto Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Mihele's late challenge caught a Alvinegro Carioca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Mihele helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Luck getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ciprian Barboni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Sousa in the 83rd minute of the match.
