If Walmir Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir Schmidt did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Zeca Cerezo 4 minutes into the match. When Fabinho Marinho fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MarquinhosEC's protests and gave Fabinho Marinho a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Marinho. A well placed Walmir Schmidt short distance shot in the 8th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. After 11 played minutes Zandarin FC got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Schmidt. After 16 played minutes Zandarin FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Secco. Pedrinho Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. MarquinhosEC were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Zandarin FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrique Domingues took the corner. Henrique Domingues made a great header on MarquinhosEC's corner, it was just that Zandarin FC's Pedrinho Severo managed to reach the ball for a save. After 28 played minutes Zandarin FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Carioca. Fabinho Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Walmir Schmidt charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmir Schmidt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Zandarin FC's Walmir Schmidt got a free kick in the 35th minute. Zandarin FC's Dorival da Costa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Elano Xavier in the 38 minute of the game. After some careless play in the MarquinhosEC defense, Walmir Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeca Cerezo. The MarquinhosEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeca Cerezo should have stopped the shot. Pedrinho Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Walmir Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Célio Leme made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Reynaldo Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. MarquinhosEC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reynaldo Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Enéas Mangueira fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zandarin FC's protests and gave Enéas Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. Enéas Mangueira hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Zandarin FC's zone, Sílvio Luiz Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Severo came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 minutes of play Zandarin FC's José Nogueira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. José Nogueira hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Zeca Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Schmidt in the 76th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, MarquinhosEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Carioca to maneuver through the defense. Walmir Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Zeca Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zandarin FC. Walmir Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Cerezo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Guto de Toledo got a free kick in the 90th minute. Walmir Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute of the match, Ulisses Carioca tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedrinho Severo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Zandarin FC were victorious despite being under pressure from MarquinhosEC for much of the match.
