Spectators: 7651 (Terracing: 5740, Seating: 1759, VIP seats: 152) Three Lions FC's Cafu de Moraes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute Miguel Santiago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's Zézinho Lopez got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube Patrício's zone, Cafu de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Leal came out of the goal and Cafu de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. George Pavard charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Pavard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sporting Clube Patrício booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Garcia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dênis de Castro. Three Lions FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dênis de Castro made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Miguel Santiago sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassiano Severo in the 25th minute of play forced Three Lions FC's goalkeeper Dênis de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dênis de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Santiago in the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu de Moraes came free, but Viriato Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting Clube Patrício's Viriato Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 33rd minute of play. Zézinho Lopez hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Sporting Clube Patrício's Cristiano Garcia shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 38th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dênis de Castro but with some difficulty. Cafu de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Viriato Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Three Lions FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Rafael de Godoi hit a great ball. Three Lions FC's Dênis de Castro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Three Lions FC from getting a goal against them. Sporting Clube Patrício's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristiano Garcia in the 45th minute. Sporting Clube Patrício's Cristiano Garcia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dênis de Castro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Horácio Chagas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Miguel Santiago made the kick off in the second half. Dênis de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassiano Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cafu de Moraes hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Viriato Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Viriato Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When Cafu de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Three Lions FC's protests and gave Cafu de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's Cafu de Moraes got a free kick in the 59th minute. Miguel Santiago took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dênis de Castro. Dênis de Castro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Dênis de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassiano Severo in the 65th minute of the match. Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cafu de Moraes 67 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Miguel Santiago kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Three Lions FC defense, Miguel Santiago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dênis de Castro. The Three Lions FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dênis de Castro should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Miguel Santiago got a free kick in the 83rd minute. George Pavard kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Dênis de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinaldo Quental, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Three Lions FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
