An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu de Moraes in the 13th minute of play forced ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s goalkeeper Jorginho Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ademar Peixoto got free with Dênis de Castro in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ademar Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis de Castro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s Cléberson Lopes got a free kick in the 28th minute. Jorginho Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléberson Lopes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™ got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Andrade. After 38 minutes, Noel Saldanha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™ and the Three Lions FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Three Lions FC booed when ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Cafu de Moraes notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s Jorginho Dias. Jorginho Dias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 47th minute, Mathias Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

52 minutes into the match, ≈SΞVĺЯΔ FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Gonçalves came free, but Jorginho Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's Marcos Guedes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorginho Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eriberto Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Three Lions FC's goalkeeper Dênis de Castro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Three Lions FC defense, Ademar Peixoto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dênis de Castro. The Three Lions FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dênis de Castro should have stopped the shot. Jorginho Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cafu de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. If Walmyr de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dênis de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
