Mathias Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvério Amaro to maneuver through the defense. After 8 played minutes Three Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Gonçalves. Jeferson Pombal hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. David Madeira was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 14 minutes into the match. Egídio Trindade hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Caio Carmona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Duarte in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Miguel Santiago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dênis de Castro was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Egídio Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. When Douglas Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Three Lions FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Duarte couldn't finish the play. Caio Carmona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cafu de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dênis de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Santiago in the 39th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Sporting Clube Patrício got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Garcia. After 41 played minutes, Three Lions FC's George Kroos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caio Carmona came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Three Lions FC reached it. The supporters of Sporting Clube Patrício booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sporting Clube Patrício getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Alexandrino Quintas hit a great ball. George Kroos, 47 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas Duarte to make the kick off. Caio Carmona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu de Moraes in the 58th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Silvério Amaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Clube Patrício and the Three Lions FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Silvério Amaro got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Miguel Santiago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Three Lions FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ricardinho Pirani hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias Gonçalves in the 78th minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Caio Carmona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Santiago in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cafu de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
