The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thibaut Mazieres kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Sebastian Medrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathys Guigon, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of FC ANC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Pointe Courte:s goal. The referee gave La Pointe Courte a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wilfried Mahé, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC ANC's Sebastian Medrea. 0-1. In the 20th minute, Radu Popovici left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC ANC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Holmes in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Medrea saved FC ANC from getting behind. After 26 minutes of play, La Pointe Courte's Mathys Guigon made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Medrea was left in no man's land by his defense there! 28 minutes into the match, Mathys Guigon notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of FC ANC's Sebastian Medrea. Sebastian Medrea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 34 minutes, Mădălin Boeru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC ANC and the La Pointe Courte players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mădălin Boeru hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Sebastian Medrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathys Guigon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Medrea came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by La Pointe Courte's Dominique Virapin. But to his dismay, Dominique Virapin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. The supporters of FC ANC booed when La Pointe Courte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yann Segond didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sabri Fouquet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mădălin Boeru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Medrea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibaut Mazieres in the 44th minute of play. When Mădălin Boeru was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Buculeasa to make the kick off. Thibaut Mazieres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 77th minute of the match Radu Bodnar completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Radu Bodnar a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th match minute, FC ANC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Bodnar to maneuver through the defense. La Pointe Courte's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
