Celsinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmílson Matorin in the 15th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Edmílson Matorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corinthians fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fernandinho Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Celsinho Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Urbano in the 30th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Celsinho Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doriva Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Gustavo Braga to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Cássio Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 68 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandinho Urbano came free, but Celsinho Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonçalo Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonçalo Borges was shown his second yellow card after 73 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 74 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Borges. Nico Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Allan Furlan's late challenge caught a Corinthians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Furlan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, AFC - Curitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Furlan to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Leão came free, but Cássio Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corinthians's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
