Elliott Levander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Sandalio in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Aaron Kvist notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Juniors FC's Mathias Roganović. Mathias Roganović was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Domingos Sandalio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elliott Levander having to make a save. Elliott Levander made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Leo Perna sent off a good shot on target. 31 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Kvist came free, but Mathias Roganović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Leeds United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gary McAlister to maneuver through the defense.

The supporters of Juniors FC booed when Leeds United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Kvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Iliana ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomás Iliana made a great header on Juniors FC's corner, it was just that Leeds United FC's Elliott Levander managed to reach the ball for a save. Gordon Strachan's late challenge caught a Juniors FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Roy Jakobsson came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Leeds United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roy Jakobsson couldn't finish the play.
