The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eleuterio Benvide during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 played minutes Atlético Rio Cuarto got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Benvide. In the 17th match minute, Clube Atlético Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo Cerezo to maneuver through the defense. Alfredinho Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Deunoro in the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eleuterio Benvide stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Marquinhos Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Bonifacio Ado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredinho Velloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Celso Lonzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Clube Atlético Paulista made a substitution. Osmar Cardozo replaced Manfredo Cerezo. Celso Lonzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Henrique, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Lucas Martínez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celso Lonzo. Atlético Rio Cuarto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Martínez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0.
