The referee ignored O rey Iván's protests and gave Aurelio Paio a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had been going on for 97 minutes, O rey Iván's Isaac Txartiko got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Celso Lonzo. Despite being the better team, Atlético Rio Cuarto failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
