But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leif Engle couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd match minute, EL PEPO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Ayala to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Leif Engle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cascade Park West's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Engle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Patxi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claude Walters might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Melquiades Patxi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claude Walters ran back to his position shaking his head. Cascade Park West's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
