Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5626, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jhon Barcellos started the match with the kick off. After 6 minutes, Delfim Quintal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palestra do Interior and the Nippur de Lagash 2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Quintal. Dedé Mazer kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Laurentzi in the 12th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 14th minute of the match Delfim Quintal completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Delfim Quintal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Palestra do Interior:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nippur de Lagash 2:s goal. In the 30th minute, Palestra do Interior's David Vale seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed David Vale the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palestra do Interior protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and David Vale had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. David Vale hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Clemente Ciano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nippur de Lagash 2 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a little luck, Nippur de Lagash 2's Jonathan De Mitri got control of the ball when Dorival Almeida tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Ulises Isusko put in a rough tackle. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nippur de Lagash 2! In the 44th minute, the referee gave Palestra do Interior a penalty. Dedé Mazer looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Jonathan De Mitri. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Everardo Laurentzi during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nippur de Lagash 2's Everardo Laurentzi got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Luz to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Nippur de Lagash 2 were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Ulysses Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Siro De Mitri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Everardo Laurentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jhon Barcellos charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jhon Barcellos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Nippur de Lagash 2 booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jhon Barcellos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Fontes to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, William Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre De Mitri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvestre De Mitri got free with Antônio Carlos Cavalcante in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nippur de Lagash 2's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
