With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Carlos Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Airborne FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Percival de Mendonça hit a great ball. Diamantino de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jhon Barcellos in the 23rd minute of the match. Palestra do Interior's Dorival Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Almeida. The supporters of Airborne FC booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino de Queiroz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim Simão's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Frank Melo struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Airborne FC. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélio Terra to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Airborne FC's Diamantino de Queiroz got control of the ball when Serafim Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Sandy Ogrocki fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palestra do Interior's protests and gave Sandy Ogrocki a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Serafim Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diamantino de Queiroz was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Diamantino de Queiroz was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Jhon Barcellos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorival Almeida got free with Diamantino de Queiroz in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diamantino de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Simão in the 75th minute of the match. Dorival Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim Simão got free with Diamantino de Queiroz in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diamantino de Queiroz came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão. But to his dismay, Serafim Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Airborne FC's Hélio Terra. But to his dismay, Hélio Terra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Airborne FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
