Spectators: 7456 (Terracing: 5593, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Serafim Simão started the match with the kick off. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Vardarov in the 4th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Angel Vardarov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VN Keleler's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. In the 7th minute, Angel Vardarov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of VN Keleler booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandy Ogrocki didn't get a good kick on the ball. When VN Keleler's Sergey Munev in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palestra do Interior's goalie prevented a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Grozdan Chapkúnov notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th minute, Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lyubcho Ruychev. Lyubcho Ruychev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Palestra do Interior's Sandy Ogrocki got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when VN Keleler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grozdan Vrazhalski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lyubcho Ruychev was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from David Vale. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Vardarov in the 25th minute of play. Serafim Simão took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lyubcho Ruychev. Lyubcho Ruychev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After having played for 36 minutes, Jhon Barcellos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jhon Barcellos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Delfim Quintal got a free kick in the 41st minute. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yani Popisakov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rostislav Mazakov in the 44th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind VN Keleler's goalkeeper Lyubcho Ruychev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Yani Popisakov made the kick off in the second half. Delfim Quintal hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The supporters of VN Keleler booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jhon Barcellos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rostislav Mazakov went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Lyubcho Ruychev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim Simão's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Angel Vardarov took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to make any attempt to save it. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Vardarov, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 88thth minute of the game Serafim Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VN Keleler's Lyubcho Ruychev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Jhon Barcellos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lyubcho Ruychev. VN Keleler's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jhon Barcellos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Lyubcho Ruychev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafim Simão in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the VN Keleler players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
