Poli Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Família Ressaca MZ the free kick. After 8 played minutes Poli Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Robin Wörns. Raul Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Wanderson Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torben Scherrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torben Scherrer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raul Gonçalves in the 30th minute. If Jochen Frohlich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Cerezo came free, but Torben Scherrer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Família Ressaca MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Jochen Frohlich came free, but Fábio Meirelles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Wanderson Cerezo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Torben Scherrer. Wanderson Cerezo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Wanderson Cerezo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Torben Scherrer made a huge save. After 43 played minutes Poli Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Robin Wörns. Simão Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. After 47 minutes of play Poli Timisoara's Robin Wörns was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 48th match minute, Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Wörns to maneuver through the defense. Torben Scherrer made a fantastic save in the 49th minute, when Wanderson Cerezo sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sven Holst to strike the kick off in the second half. Torben Scherrer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tales Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Cerezo in the 56th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Torben Scherrer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Tróia scored 4-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Torben Scherrer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Raul Gonçalves put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Torben Scherrer. Poli Timisoara's Torben Scherrer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Salles in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Thomas Schmuck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fábio Meirelles. Família Ressaca MZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Schmuck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. Torben Scherrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Vidal in the 78th minute of play. After 82 minutes of play, Família Ressaca MZ's Tales Salles made it 7-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Torben Scherrer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 90 minutes into the match, Wanderson Cerezo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Torben Scherrer. Poli Timisoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wanderson Cerezo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2. If Sven Holst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
