Eugeniusz Sokolski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Wielkopolski having to interfere. Tytus Zieba might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmund Wielkopolski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tytus Zieba ran back to his position shaking his head. 6 minutes into the match, MKS Legion Częstochowa's goal looked a bit too open when Eugeniusz Sokolski came free, but Edmund Wielkopolski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Twierdza Wroclaw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zachariasz Jakisz to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Twierdza Wroclaw's Tolek Bartocha got a free kick in the 8th minute. Toni Polster blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kajetan Turak having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tytus Zieba in the 12th minute of play forced MKS Legion Częstochowa's goalkeeper Edmund Wielkopolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When MKS Legion Częstochowa's Teobald Gaszynski in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Toni Polster hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Teobald Gaszynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kajetan Turak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MKS Legion Częstochowa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teobald Gaszynski in the 20th minute. MKS Legion Częstochowa's Olaf Radziszewski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kajetan Turak in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 23rd minute, Twierdza Wroclaw's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teobald Gaszynski fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 25 minutes into the match, Twierdza Wroclaw's goalkeeper Kajetan Turak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toni Polster. Toni Polster hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Teobald Gaszynski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kajetan Turak. The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of MKS Legion Częstochowa booed when Twierdza Wroclaw was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kryspin Cytrynski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Teobald Gaszynski came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the MKS Legion Częstochowa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobald Gaszynski couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Twierdza Wroclaw got a freekick which was hit by Tolek Bartocha. A collision led to MKS Legion Częstochowa getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Teobald Gaszynski hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Zbyszek Tylenda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Twierdza Wroclaw's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zbyszek Tylenda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tolek Bartocha in the 47th minute of play forced MKS Legion Częstochowa's goalkeeper Edmund Wielkopolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tytus Zieba to make the kick off. Ryszard Zabrzeski's late challenge caught a MKS Legion Częstochowa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryszard Zabrzeski helped the player get up and apologised. Ryszard Zabrzeski kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. When Teobald Gaszynski came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the MKS Legion Częstochowa fans jumped to their feet. In the 66th minute, Twierdza Wroclaw's Eugeniusz Sokolski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmund Wielkopolski. Edmund Wielkopolski yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Kajetan Turak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toni Polster in the 70th minute of play. Edmund Wielkopolski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tolek Bartocha in the 71st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Twierdza Wroclaw defense, Toni Polster kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kajetan Turak. The Twierdza Wroclaw fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kajetan Turak should have stopped the shot. Ludomil Makarewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Kajetan Turak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobald Gaszynski, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Tolek Bartocha was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of MKS Legion Częstochowa booed when Twierdza Wroclaw was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolek Bartocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the game, Toni Polster cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Kajetan Turak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
