Adolfo Silbestre took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Roberto Chaves. Zé Roberto Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Vladimir Valadares's late challenge caught a C.A.Esparta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Valadares helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, União Agrícola Barbarense's Vladimir Valadares got a free kick in the 5th minute. Adolfo Silbestre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Zé Roberto Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Roberto Chaves was a little too slow when Carolo Solustiano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 2-0. 11 minutes into the game, Adolfo Silbestre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Zé Roberto Chaves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Nofre in the 16th minute of play forced União Agrícola Barbarense's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as C.A.Esparta's Lino Arnau slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zé Roberto Chaves. That made the score 4-0 after 18 minutes of play. Claudinei Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, C.A.Esparta's Armando Manuelo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Roberto Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Roberto Chaves was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Lino Arnau capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lino Arnau really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. After a defensive mix-up in União Agrícola Barbarense's zone, Lino Arnau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Roberto Chaves came out of the goal and Lino Arnau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Silbestre got free with Zé Roberto Chaves in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of C.A.Esparta booed when União Agrícola Barbarense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delfim Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Lino Arnau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Roberto Chaves was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. 40 minutes into the match, União Agrícola Barbarense's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Arnau came free, but Zé Roberto Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lino Arnau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Roberto Chaves made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Gilberto Nofre sent off a good shot on target.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Fernando Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Gilberto Nofre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Agrícola Barbarense's Zé Roberto Chaves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 55 played minutes C.A.Esparta got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Aimar. Doriva Macedo hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Nuno in the 61st minute of play forced União Agrícola Barbarense's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Chaves came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Esparta's Gilberto Nofre. But to his dismay, Gilberto Nofre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Nofre in the 66th minute of play forced União Agrícola Barbarense's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Silbestre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute Erasmo Beltza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.A.Esparta's Adolfo Silbestre got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gilberto Nofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Arnau in the 76th minute of play forced União Agrícola Barbarense's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Chaves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Silbestre went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. União Agrícola Barbarense's Zé Roberto Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Nofre in the 85th minute of play. When Gilberto Nofre, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 88 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zé Roberto Chaves was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, União Agrícola Barbarense's Claudinei Leal got a free kick in the 91st minute. Adolfo Silbestre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Zé Roberto Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.A.Esparta fully deserved thier win.
