In the 3rd match minute, Karen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Hedkvist to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute of the match Marc Juhlin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bengt-Åke Smitt skillfully saved the ball. Bengt-Åke Smitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörgen Bjurström in the 5th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Karen FC's Tomas Nordmark got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute Jörgen Bjurström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Åke Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birger Kleen struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Bengt-Åke Smitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nils Liedholm IF. In the 17th minute Birger Kleen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Åke Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birger Kleen took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bengt-Åke Smitt. Bengt-Åke Smitt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 23 minutes, Tomas Nordmark mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karen FC and the Nils Liedholm IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birger Kleen in the 26th minute of play forced Karen FC's goalkeeper Bengt-Åke Smitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Karen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Birger Kleen came free, but Bengt-Åke Smitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Tomas Nordmark made the kick off in the second half. Bengt-Åke Smitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörgen Bjurström in the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Karen FC booed when Nils Liedholm IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Kleen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Åke Smitt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kalle Norström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 60 minute of play. Jörgen Bjurström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Bengt-Åke Smitt made a huge save. 69 minutes into the game, Nils Liedholm IF's Birger Kleen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt-Åke Smitt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 74 minutes into the match, Nils Liedholm IF's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Nordmark came free, but Ove Hake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Karen FC's zone, Jörgen Bjurström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt-Åke Smitt came out of the goal and Jörgen Bjurström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute, Birger Kleen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nils Liedholm IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. In the 95th minute, Einar Borre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ove Hake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Wanner in the 98th minute of play.
