The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Douglas Stenkvist during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A very good chance for a goal. Silverio Peralta hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddie Mikaelsson in the 27th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Amancio Pedrueza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gert Bammerman in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Pedrueza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hanot Piña to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Hanot Piña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvald Albom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 played minutes The Skates got a freekick which was hit by Alvin Billberg. In the 57th minute Freddie Mikaelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Pedrueza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Hanot Piña ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvald Albom was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvald Albom showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Gert Bammerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amancio Pedrueza was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Freddie Mikaelsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 77 minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Estudiantes de Merida FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Casa to maneuver through the defense. Milian Archimbaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute.
