Emile Montens's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Magnus Skark kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pål Hermansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Bror Kilman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Geert Haelemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Svanér saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Magnus Skark. In the 29th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Ivarsson to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes in the game Bart Dhondt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Patrik De Wortelaers. Bror Kilman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Steve Van Langendonckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Geert Haelemans came free, but William Svanér reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Svanér didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geert Haelemans went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Boca Juniors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Patrik De Wortelaers scored to the left of an out of position William Svanér, making the score, 0-3. If Geert Haelemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrik De Wortelaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. William Svanér tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 minutes, Dolf Huijgens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's Dolf Huijgens got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute, Geert Haelemans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. William Svanér was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Boca Juniors's William Svanér proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Bart Dhondt hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. William Svanér came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's Patrik De Wortelaers. But to his dismay, Patrik De Wortelaers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. When the final whistle sounded ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Boca Juniors.
