The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Zé de Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Melão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé de Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes in the game, Cristian Fidencio fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ernani Dias having to interfere. Marcinho Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute Pedro Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Sergi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de Melão's Marcinho Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 15 played minutes Gonzalito de PuertoMadryn got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Jakue. Sergio Quintyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ernani Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Inter de Melão's Marcinho Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Siro Sergi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cristian Fidencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Dias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Marques in the 34th minute of play forced Gonzalito de PuertoMadryn's goalkeeper Siro Sergi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gonzalito de PuertoMadryn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedro Baptista was slow to take the kick. During this time Inter de Melão's players had a chance to rest. Murilo Nascimento hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Cristian Fidencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siro Sergi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Gogo Venerando charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gogo Venerando the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Gogo Venerando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcinho Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siro Sergi having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Baptista to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Inter de Melão booed when Gonzalito de PuertoMadryn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Fidencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Fidencio's late challenge caught a Inter de Melão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Fidencio helped the player get up and apologised. Ciro Amorim hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Inter de Melão's Ernani Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Fidencio in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gonzalito de PuertoMadryn's goalkeeper Siro Sergi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernani Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Quintyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. If Wiliam Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernani Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Quintyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Marcinho Marques came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Inter de Melão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Marques couldn't finish the play. Siro Sergi came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Melão's Pedro Baptista. But to his dismay, Pedro Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ernani Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergio Quintyn's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Sergio Quintyn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
