Felipe Queiroz took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sergio Romero. Sergio Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A collision led to The Waldos getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Fulgencio Ederono hit a great ball. The Waldos's Fulgencio Ederono got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdir Peres scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sergio Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Arósio in the 28th minute of the match. The Waldos's Sergio Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Queiroz in the 32nd minute of play. Edgard Arósio took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sergio Romero. Sergio Romero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Regis got free with Sílvio Zonta in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Peres in the 45th minute of play forced The Waldos's goalkeeper Sergio Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Waldos's Sergio Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Queiroz in the 47th minute of play.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donato Regis made a kick off. Sergio Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Queiroz in the 60th minute of play. Vivaldo Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Fulgencio Ederono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, The Waldos's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Queiroz came free, but Sergio Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, The Waldos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alphonse Tchami to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Bruninho Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sergio Romero was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Sergio Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Sílvio Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Waldos. After a rather tough play, The Waldos's Alphonse Tchami got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 95th minute, Fulgencio Ederono got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over TAQUARI FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than The Waldos throughout the match.
