The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. William Allonca hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 5th minute of the match Brecht Van Beneden sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xalbador Gamiz skillfully saved the ball. In the 8th minute, Jan Melkval left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The All Stars Gent fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 13th minute, Raphaël Boede hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Melkval kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Melkval in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xalbador Gamiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. GreenUnited's Xalbador Gamiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Melkval in the 21st minute of play. David Dekeyser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xalbador Gamiz having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, All Stars Gent's David Dekeyser nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xalbador Gamiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in GreenUnited's zone, Jan Melkval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xalbador Gamiz came out of the goal and Jan Melkval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When All Stars Gent's Jan Melkval in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GreenUnited's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute, Gery Latomme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, GreenUnited's Elija Andres got a free kick in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the match, GreenUnited's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Melkval came free, but Xalbador Gamiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All Stars Gent's Brecht Van Beneden was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Xalbador Gamiz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 43 minutes into the match, GreenUnited's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Melkval came free, but Xalbador Gamiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xalbador Gamiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Melkval in the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jan Melkval made the kick off in the second half. Xalbador Gamiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Melkval in the 51st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Melkval in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xalbador Gamiz saved GreenUnited from getting behind. Xalbador Gamiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Melkval in the 60th minute of the match. Xalbador Gamiz made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Brecht Van Beneden sent off a good shot on target. GreenUnited's Xalbador Gamiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Melkval in the 62nd minute of play. Jan Melkval received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Xalbador Gamiz came out and tried to block the shot, but Jan Melkval slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 63rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Melkval in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xalbador Gamiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GreenUnited! Xalbador Gamiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Dekeyser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. William Allonca hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Macario Runs's late challenge caught a All Stars Gent's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Macario Runs helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Macario Runs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xalbador Gamiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Melkval, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Jan Melkval could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Xalbador Gamiz made a huge save. After 86 minutes of play, All Stars Gent's Jan Melkval made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xalbador Gamiz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Xalbador Gamiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Dekeyser in the 90th minute. After 97 played minutes All Stars Gent got a freekick which was hit by Raphaël Boede.
