Spectators: 7549 (Terracing: 5663, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Claudinho Saldanha took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute, Nemesio Cordarell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Poetass FC's Noel Azevedo got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto Barreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poetass FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Vieja Guarida FC the free kick. Zé Augusto Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goalkeeper Cássio de Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Lidon. In the 8th minute Roman Donio suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Olavo Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poetass FC's protests and gave Olavo Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. La Vieja Guarida FC's Antonio Gagriel was substituted for Roman Donio. The supporters of La Vieja Guarida FC booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Gualterio Azibar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cássio de Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 14th minute of the match Claudinho Saldanha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zeledon Rolado skillfully saved the ball. Olavo Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Zeledon Rolado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Lidon took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio de Senna. Cássio de Senna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Hilario Rufo charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hilario Rufo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cássio de Senna made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Carlos Lidon sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Poetass FC defense, Carlos Lidon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio de Senna. The Poetass FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio de Senna should have stopped the shot. Claudinho Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Carlos Lidon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Cássio de Senna made a huge save. Cássio de Senna came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by La Vieja Guarida FC's Carlos Lidon. But to his dismay, Carlos Lidon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Cleto Rodas's late challenge caught a Poetass FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleto Rodas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when La Vieja Guarida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleto Rodas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute of the match, Carlos Lidon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cássio de Senna was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Lidon made a kick off. Carlos Lidon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio de Senna having to interfere. Nemesio Cordarell kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Zeledon Rolado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Guedes in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when La Vieja Guarida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Kauldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodosio Aritza kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Nemesio Cordarell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cássio de Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Lidon in the 67th minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Cássio de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute Cleto Rodas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio de Senna came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by La Vieja Guarida FC's Gualterio Azibar. But to his dismay, Gualterio Azibar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. The supporters of La Vieja Guarida FC booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Teodosio Aritza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Vieja Guarida FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodosio Aritza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cássio de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Rodas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Noel Azevedo. La Vieja Guarida FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
