In the 23rd minute Lino Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Stars Academy booed when Alvarado de Mar del Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.

In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stars Academy's goalkeeper Miguel Carneiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Stars Academy's Miguel Carneiro got control of the ball when Damian Rito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute, Ramiro Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bento Perdigão couldn't finish the play. Máximo Baía kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Stars Academy's Bento Perdigão got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute of the match Alvarado de Mar del Plata got a corner. Stars Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cesar Jenaro ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 93rd minute of the match, Fernando Sabin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Miguel Carneiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Sancho during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Alvarado de Mar del Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timoteo Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Teodosio Macerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bento Perdigão in the 97th minute of the match. The Stars Academy fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Alvarado de Mar del Plata were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
