Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Vágner Rossi made the kick off which started today's match. Matheus Gaúcho hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute Bruno Renan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kent Backman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ECS FK getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Dorival de Moraes hit a great ball. If Lars-Erik Wall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ECS FK's Vitório Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save ECS FK from getting a goal against them. Osvald Ahlstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Berger having to interfere. Rickard Andreasson's late challenge caught a ECS FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickard Andreasson helped the player get up and apologised. João Augusto Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 37 minutes of play, ECS FK's João Augusto Araújo made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kent Backman was left in no man's land by his defense there! João Augusto Araújo scored 0-5 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kent Backman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute, Marcelo Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorival de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Backman having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilbert Åkesson made a kick off. Haroldo Perez came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kent Backman could save by the left post. Célio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Rossi came free, but Kent Backman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes in the game, Bruno Renan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kent Backman having to interfere. When Gilbert Åkesson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Norrlands Athen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Åkesson couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Norrlands Athen's zone, Célio Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kent Backman came out of the goal and Célio Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Bruno Renan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kent Backman, 0-6. Kent Backman was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Bruno Renan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruno Renan really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Kent Backman got control of the ball when Dorival de Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Rickard Andreasson got a free kick in the 75th minute. Vágner Rossi struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Kent Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ECS FK. In the 78th minute, Rickard Andreasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When ECS FK's Vágner Rossi in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Norrlands Athen's goalie prevented a goal. Norrlands Athen's Kent Backman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Rossi in the 82nd minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Célio Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, ECS FK's Dorival de Moraes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. After having played for 90 minutes, Vágner Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ECS FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Célio Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 0-9 when Dorival de Moraes sped through Norrlands Athen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kent Backman. When the match was over ECS FK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Norrlands Athen throughout the match.
