The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eddi Czarny scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vitório Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of ATLAS Mysłowice booed when ECS FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ECS FK's Haroldo Perez got a free kick in the 12th minute. Jerônimo Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vágner Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as ECS FK's Vágner Rossi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jerônimo Lucas. That made the score 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. Vitório Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, ECS FK's goal looked a bit too open when Eddi Czarny came free, but Vitório Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerônimo Lucas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vágner Rossi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 43 minute of play. In the 46th match minute, ATLAS Mysłowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Örjan Vestlund to maneuver through the defense. ECS FK's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 47th minute of the game, when Sebastião Mendonça after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of ATLAS Mysłowice's goal. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Eddi Czarny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Vitório Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, ATLAS Mysłowice's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival de Moraes came free, but Jerônimo Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
