When Jonatan Matia fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olds School Pepo's protests and gave Jonatan Matia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, Olds School Pepo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonatan Matia to maneuver through the defense. Sixten Rönn charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sixten Rönn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Jörgen Norberg's late challenge caught a Olds School Pepo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörgen Norberg helped the player get up and apologised. Mauro Eleder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Kent Backman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kent Backman was a little too slow when Angelo Urtzi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. Kent Backman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Eleder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Andreasson. Kent Backman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Oskarbi, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Kent Backman made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Angelo Urtzi sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Norrlands Athen's Kent Backman got control of the ball when Mauro Eleder tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Kent Backman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Weather, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Mauro Eleder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olds School Pepo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Eleder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Olds School Pepo's Ciriaco Weather got a free kick in the 58th minute.
