Spectators: 7511 (Terracing: 5634, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) Edelmiro Chago started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Bernardo Cristofor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kent Backman having to make a save. In the 8th minute, Edelmiro Chago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kent Backman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 12th minute of the game Honorato Eutropio made a throw-in which Jimeno Iban played forward. Kent Backman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edelmiro Chago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Jörgen Norberg got a free kick in the 19th minute. Edelmiro Chago scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kent Backman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kent Backman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Cristofor went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Totakoxe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Kent Backman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Brodin during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes Norrlands Athen got a freekick which was hit by Michael Brodin. Honorato Eutropio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kent Backman. Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edelmiro Chago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serafin Lalla made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Gilbert Åkesson sent off a good shot on target. Arnoldo Totakoxe took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kent Backman. Kent Backman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Norrlands Athen's Kent Backman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Norrlands Athen from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixten Rönn to maneuver through the defense. When Honorato Eutropio came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the CAI NEUQUEN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorato Eutropio couldn't finish the play. Edelmiro Chago scored 0-8 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kent Backman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kent Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CAI NEUQUEN. Rickard Andreasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Serafin Lalla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, Vicente Urtungo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CAI NEUQUEN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norrlands Athen the free kick. In the 94th match minute, CAI NEUQUEN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Urtungo to maneuver through the defense. The CAI NEUQUEN players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
