Ben Jaddon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ştefan Alupulesei went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nicu Arghirescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Imbreghts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Flavius Băieșu got a free kick in the 11th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Noel Imbreghts in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicu Arghirescu saved Club Sportiv Medgidia from getting behind. FC Ouagadougou National's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Issa Bado in the 16th minute. FC Ouagadougou National's Issa Bado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nicu Arghirescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With 21 minutes on the clock, Sebastian Matei commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Nicu Arghirescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Issa Bado in the 23rd minute. Stelian Hulubei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Jaddon having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Sportiv Medgidia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! The excitement rose when FC Ouagadougou National's Issa Bado after 31 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Club Sportiv Medgidia's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. After a rather tough play, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Sergiu Timaru got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Noel Imbreghts might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicu Arghirescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noel Imbreghts ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 54 minutes, Jeremie Sterkx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ouagadougou National and the Club Sportiv Medgidia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 61 minutes, Noel Imbreghts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ouagadougou National's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noel Imbreghts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moussa Tapsoba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicu Arghirescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute FC Ouagadougou National were awarded a corner. Issa Bado went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on FC Ouagadougou National's corner Ief Fondria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nicu Arghirescu quite easily take care of the ball. Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Imbreghts in the 70th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noel Imbreghts in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicu Arghirescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Flavius Băieșu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sportiv Medgidia's protests and gave Flavius Băieșu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Sportiv Medgidia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Flavius Băieșu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Horea in the 81st minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Ben Jaddon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noel Imbreghts in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicu Arghirescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute, Issa Bado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the game, FC Ouagadougou National's Issa Bado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicu Arghirescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 95 minutes into the game, Laurențiu Iosub was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportiv Medgidia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ouagadougou National the free kick. After 95 played minutes Club Sportiv Medgidia got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Iosub. If Noel Imbreghts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Ouagadougou National were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Club Sportiv Medgidia for a fine match.
