With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronan Marler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Noel Imbreghts might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronan Marler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noel Imbreghts ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Real Death Ducks booed when FC Ouagadougou National was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter-Jan Goovaers didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Noel Imbreghts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ronan Marler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 18th minute, Jermaine Brearley made a precise shot to the right of Ben Jaddon. FC Ouagadougou National's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ouagadougou National's zone, Marty Holden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben Jaddon came out of the goal and Marty Holden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Issa Bado kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes, Real Death Ducks's Isaac Harrison shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ben Jaddon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Death Ducks reached it. Real Death Ducks's Ronan Marler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Imbreghts in the 30th minute of play. Noel Imbreghts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronan Marler having to interfere. Moussa Tapsoba's late challenge caught a Real Death Ducks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moussa Tapsoba helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Ouagadougou National's Moussa Tapsoba got a free kick in the 36th minute. Issa Bado kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lawrence Banks to make the kick off. Ronan Marler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Issa Bado, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Real Death Ducks booed when FC Ouagadougou National was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Lambert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Real Death Ducks's Isaac Harrison got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the game, FC Ouagadougou National's Noel Imbreghts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronan Marler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Lawrence Banks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ben Jaddon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Ben Jaddon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Noel Imbreghts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 minutes, Lawrence Banks made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. FC Ouagadougou National's Ben Jaddon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronan Marler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Imbreghts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Steffe De Jonge fired a really elegant long shot, but Ronan Marler threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. FC Ouagadougou National were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Real Death Ducks's much stronger midfield.
