If Mathias Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's Fabien Barthez got control of the ball when Mathias Berger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erik Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sagarana Clube's William Cabral suffered a sore thigh after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Wiliam Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute of the match ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ got a corner. Sagarana Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wiliam Palmeira ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Michael Essien sped through Sagarana Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dráuzio Arantes. Dimitri Payet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dráuzio Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Erik Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sagarana Clube getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Armandinho Mandrak hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathias Berger to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by César Carioca. Armandinho Mandrak charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armandinho Mandrak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Armandinho Mandrak got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 72 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Aparecido. 74 minutes into the match, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Prado came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sagarana Clube's Erik Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Mathias Berger made a precise shot to the right of Fabien Barthez. ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Dimitri Payet received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dráuzio Arantes came out and tried to block the shot, but Dimitri Payet slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's zone, Mathias Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabien Barthez came out of the goal and Mathias Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Prado in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabien Barthez prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
