Spectators: 7420 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Adilson Loyola took the kick off in the first half of the match. Egídio Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adilson Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leões do Sul 53's Egídio Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam Palmeira in the 6th minute of play. After 9 played minutes ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Nunes. Egídio Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adilson Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Inácio Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Sena during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes Leões do Sul 53 got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Sena. Egídio Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Loyola in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Emerson Sheikh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Egídio Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Loyola in the 26th minute of play forced Leões do Sul 53's goalkeeper Egídio Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Emerson Sheikh sped through Leões do Sul 53's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Egídio Reis. Wiliam Palmeira took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Reis. Egídio Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 46 minutes of play, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's Emerson Sheikh made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egídio Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tarcisio Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho de Castro in the 54th minute of play. Inácio Saraiva was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Leões do Sul 53! When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's Patrick Vieira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Egídio Reis. In the 67th minute, Wiliam Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute Bernardo Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adilson Loyola struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Egídio Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ. 76 minutes into the match, Emerson Sheikh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egídio Reis. Leões do Sul 53's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Sheikh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. 79 minutes into the match, Emerson Sheikh dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Egídio Reis, 0-8. When Adilson Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Loyola couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute, Leões do Sul 53's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wiliam Palmeira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joaquim Pernambucano hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Leões do Sul 53's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Vieira came free, but Egídio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarcisio Baptista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabien Barthez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 100th minute of play. The ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
