Merceron United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Conti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Merceron United fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Merceron United's Emilio Conti looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elia Cirelli during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Beto Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Conti went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Emilio Conti scored 0-4 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beto Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Giorda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Ferreira in the 23rd minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Emilio Conti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beto Valle. Leon Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Conti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Leon Sport Club's Beto Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Di Crescenzo in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Leon Sport Club defense, Arrigo Di Crescenzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beto Valle. The Leon Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beto Valle should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when César Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Leon Sport Club getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Rony Lara hit a great ball. Beto Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Di Crescenzo in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Merceron United were awarded a corner. Alfredo Monaco went to the cornerflag to take it. Emilio Conti took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Valle. Beto Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. Arrigo Di Crescenzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilio Conti scored 0-10 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beto Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Beto Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrigo Di Crescenzo in the 76th minute of the match. Beto Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Conti went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-11 was the resulting score. Beto Valle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emilio Conti showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 89 minute of play. Beto Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arrigo Di Crescenzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th match minute, Leon Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Tróia to maneuver through the defense. Merceron United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
