The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Conti got free with Sonny Åkesson in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Filip Kaxe's late challenge caught a Merceron United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Kaxe helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Hermanö Oilers:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merceron United:s goal. Hermanö Oilers:s Sonny Åkesson showed great skill when he stopped Alfredo Monaco:s penalty. After 8 minutes of play, Merceron United's Alfredo Monaco made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sonny Åkesson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 11th minute Arrigo Di Crescenzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Åkesson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Cane came free, but Alberto Giorda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match Merceron United got a corner. Hermanö Oilers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Monaco ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Merceron United's corner Alfredo Monaco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sonny Åkesson quite easily take care of the ball. Elia Cirelli got in the 16th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Sonny Åkesson handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Elia Cirelli hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Emil Wallgren took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Giorda. Alberto Giorda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Hermanö Oilers's Sonny Åkesson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Hermanö Oilers from getting a goal against them. Emilio Conti's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Sonny Åkesson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 30 minutes into the match, Wilhelm Cane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Giorda. Merceron United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilhelm Cane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 32 minutes into the game, Wilhelm Cane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Alberto Giorda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Merceron United getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Emilio Conti hit a great ball. Emilio Conti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Sonny Åkesson made a huge save. After 45 minutes, Wilhelm Cane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hermanö Oilers and the Merceron United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th minute, Wilhelm Cane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Arrigo Di Crescenzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Hermanö Oilers were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilhelm Cane stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucas Andreasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Merceron United's Elia Cirelli got a free kick in the 59th minute. Alberto Giorda was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Peter Bank showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 63 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Emilio Conti put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Sonny Åkesson. In the 74th match minute, Merceron United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmine Latini to maneuver through the defense. Anthony Ruzzi lost his temper 82 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Alberto Giorda, was totally fooled by Hermanö Oilers's Emil Wallgren, who 83 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Wilhelm Cane could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Alberto Giorda made a huge save. Alberto Giorda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Cane, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 95 minutes, Alexander Longo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merceron United and the Hermanö Oilers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Merceron United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberto Giorda should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Hermanö Oilers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Merceron United throughout the match.
