Alberto Giorda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víktor Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by César Ferreira. After 13 minutes, Dudu Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leon Sport Club and the Merceron United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 minutes, Emilio Conti made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Leon Sport Club's Victor Mendonça tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Merceron United's Elia Cirelli got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Carmine Latini notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Leon Sport Club's Victor Mendonça. Victor Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 29 minutes into the match, Carlo Mandelli dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Victor Mendonça, 3-0. Frank Pizzi kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Emilio Conti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Leon Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Mandelli came free, but Victor Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute César Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Giorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Giorda having to interfere.

The wind increased when Emilio Conti made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Merceron United's zone, Rony Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Giorda came out of the goal and Rony Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 53 minutes into the match, Emilio Conti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Victor Mendonça. Leon Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Conti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Ferreira in the 59th minute of play forced Merceron United's goalkeeper Alberto Giorda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Conti in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlo Mandelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the match, Emilio Conti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Victor Mendonça. Leon Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Conti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. After 73 minutes, Alfredo Monaco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merceron United and the Leon Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Leon Sport Club booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Monaco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Carmine Latini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emilio Conti struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Victor Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merceron United. Victor Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carmine Latini went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elia Cirelli in the 87th minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Victor Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Mandelli in the 91st minute of the match. Merceron United's Emilio Conti got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Merceron United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leon Sport Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
